Take Action! Joint Committee on Transportation rewrites restrictive bill -- still bans youth riding
Senate bill 2735, which is a rewrite of House bill 3592 by the Joint Committee on Transportation, would make it illegal for anyone under the age of 14 to operate an ATV, off-highway motorcycle or snowmobile. It would also limit operators under the age of 16 to dirtbikes, ATVs and snow machines with 90cc or less of engine displacement. Anyone born after January 1, 1990 would be required to complete a "recreational vehicle safety and responsibility course" before they could legally operate an off-highway vehicle. Furthermore, the legislation would authorize the director of the office of environmental law enforcement to further increase the minimum age for dirtbike, ATV and snowmobile operators at a later date. The Senate postponed acting on the re-write in its last meeting but could take up the matter as soon as June 23th. The AMA urges riders to contact their state senators with their opposition to this bill. A personal letter or phone call is recommended but a prewritten email response is provided through the AMA's Issues & Legislation service. This legislation can be reviewed by clicking on the "current legislation" tab in the Issues & Legislation section. footer<http://ffs.capwiz.com/img/sc/061footer.jpg>

What We Do

Sideways Promotions is proud to announce the Wachusett Valley Riders Club is back open as of July 2005. WVR was incorporated in 1996 and ran successful events till 2001 when legal problems arose. We have a 1/5th mile dirt oval and our new pit bike arena cross track on the infield. Full membership allows practicing during the week. W.V.R.C also plans youth and adult flat track schools, vintage bike shows, swap meets and other great club functions.

Sideways Promotions President Pete Giammalvo started riding at 8 years old and his first race (and win!) was at 14 riding a Hodaka 125 at Lake Whalom unstudded class. In 1978 he started promoting ice races for the city of Gardner MA Winter Carnival with a great run of 4 seasons. A career change stopped his promoting but not his racing. In 1987 a diving accident resulted in a broken neck and leaving Pete a quadriplegic in a wheelchair. After 14 years successfully racing bikes and 5 years of car ice racing, his career as a racer were done. Loving the sport, Pete decided it was time to get back in the promoting business. A year doing ice races for the Athol MA Lions Club and back to the dirt! 1989 Sideways Promotions was started with a plan. To put on good quality events that keep the fans happy and pay the riders decent and to have our own track so our youth can train to become Professional riders. As Sideways grew there have been ups and downs but Pete’s never give up attitude has persevered in the long run. The dream of a lifetime is coming together as riders from the northeast are becoming recognized nation wide for their accomplishments!

Sideways Promotions is a multi-purpose promotions company doing business in the northeast. We specialize in Professional and Amateur flat track racing but we are also very experienced in other forms of motor sports. Sideways Promotions can offer specialized shows or racing from freestyle exhibitions to monster trucks. We do special events on pavement, dirt and ice, indoors or out. Please contact us for more information.

Memberships allow you to use the track for practice.

We are a family style club with the emphasis on fun!

You can get a membership or more information by contacting:

PRESS RELEASE

TR3 RAKE PRESS RELEASE - Sideways Promotions would like to announce a new outside the motorcycle industry Sponsor for the New England Dirt Track Series 2006 season. Absolute Innovations LLC has the ultimate ground prep tool for any dirt race track: oval or motocross. The TR3 Rakes is the top choice at thousands of tracks, arenas and fairgrounds across North America. Sideways Promotions President Pete Giammalvo says,

"Promoting motorcycle races at different tracks has always been a big challenge because everyone has different equipment to prepare the soil. I have tried all kinds of equipment and the TR3 Rake is the one piece that does it all. From loosening the soil to get moisture in, grading in between races and even to fluff the dirt after a rainstorm, it does it all. We also grade the roads and parking areas at our club track, Wachusett Valley Riders. Traveling all over New England like we do allows me to transport 1 piece of equipment instead of a variety of attachments. With more back yard practice tracks being built Absolute Innovations has equipment from 4’ wide that can be pulled with an atv or truck to 14’ wide commercial applications. Being a stubborn old "Yankee from New England" I was doubtful till I watched the video and read their money back guarantee. They believe in their product 100% and so do I."
